A practical guide to results, treatment planning, maintenance and choosing the right approach for your skin
Ultherapy PRIME uses microfocused ultrasound energy with real-time imaging to target collagen-rich tissue beneath the skin. It is designed for gradual, natural-looking lifting without surgery, incisions or needles. Most people can resume their usual activities immediately after treatment, while results commonly develop over two to three months and may last a year or more. Individual results vary.
Ultherapy PRIME is part of the Ultherapy product line, incorporating real-time imaging features that allow the treating doctor to see tissue layers, select appropriate depths, and plan treatment according to the patient’s anatomy, with energy levels that can be tailored for sensitive areas or smaller treatment zones.
It may be considered by patients noticing mild to moderate skin laxity, reduced firmness, early jowling, or less definition around the brow, jawline, under chin, neck or décolletage. It is not a substitute for surgery, and the expected degree of improvement should be discussed during consultation.
Start with the concern you can see in the mirror: a softer jawline, skin under the chin, neck laxity, crow’s feet, or a heavier brow. This guide explains what Ultherapy PRIME can and cannot do, when results appear, and how AAA plans treatment around the individual rather than a standard template.

Ultherapy PRIME is a non-invasive skin lifting and tightening treatment that delivers microfocused ultrasound energy to selected tissue depths below the skin’s surface. The energy creates controlled thermal points that activate the body’s natural collagen response while leaving the surface largely unaffected.
Its real time imaging allows the doctor to assess the tissue before and during treatment. At AAA, this visual information is considered together with the patient’s anatomy, skin laxity and goals, helping the doctor plan beyond a standard one size fits all pattern.
Ultherapy PRIME is FDA-cleared to lift and tighten multiple facial and neck areas. It may be used to address:

May soften lines at the corners of the eyes

May help improve the appearance of brow heaviness

May improve the appearance of jawline definition

May improve the appearance of nasolabial folds

Firms lax skin and horizontal lines

Improves mid-to-lower facial sag
Individual responses vary. Your doctor will discuss what outcomes may be realistic for your specific skin condition during a consultation.
Ultherapy PRIME works in three linked stages:
At AAA, the doctor views the tissue layers beneath the skin and identifies the planned treatment depth for the area being treated.
Energy is delivered to precise points at selected depths. Common transducer depths include 1.5mm, 3.0mm and 4.5mm, depending on the area and individual anatomy.
The controlled thermal response initiates collagen contraction and new collagen formation. Because this is a biological process, change develops progressively rather than appearing as an immediate, artificial transformation.
Ultherapy PRIME combines an established microfocused ultrasound approach with real-time imaging. The imaging allows the doctor to assess tissue more clearly and plan treatment around the person in front of them.
This platform doesn’t guarantee that every patient will achieve a stronger result. AAA places equal importance on patient selection, realistic expectations, and a treatment plan matched to the areas of concern. The individual’s collagen response remains an important part of the outcome.
Ultherapy PRIME is part of the established Ultherapy platform, not a different treatment category. Both use microfocused ultrasound and real-time visualisation to stimulate collagen regeneration.
The PRIME includes a larger display, faster image refresh and a more streamlined workflow, which supports the doctor in assessing and planning treatment, and may allow for a shorter procedure time and enhanced patient comfort.
Some patients notice temporary tightness or a subtle early lift immediately after treatment, but this isn’t the final result, as early changes may partly reflect temporary tissue response or swelling. AAA encourages patients to judge the treatment over months, not at the first mirror check.
Skin may look red or feel tender, warm, swollen or tingly for a period afterward. Effects vary in type and duration. Follow the clinic’s aftercare instructions and contact the clinic if you notice anything unexpected or persistent.
The main improvement usually develops gradually over two to three months as new collagen and elastin form, with some patients continuing to notice change beyond that as remodelling progresses.
Use consistent lighting and angles for progress photos. AAA may use baseline and review images for a more useful comparison. Looking too early can be misleading, since Ultherapy PRIME is designed for gradual rather than immediate change.
A single treatment may produce results lasting a year or more in the face. Longevity differs between patients because the treatment stimulates the body’s own collagen response and doesn’t stop natural ageing.
Factors that influence longevity:
There’s no fixed schedule that suits everyone. Since facial results may last a year or more, a review around the one-year mark can be a useful checkpoint. Some patients prefer a later review; others with faster collagen loss may discuss an earlier assessment. Dr Jeanel Goh advises on timing based on your response, skin condition, and goals. Maintenance should be based on clinical need, not an automatic package.
It can support longer-term management of mild to moderate laxity, but it isn’t permanent and doesn’t stop ageing — sun exposure, gravity and natural collagen loss continue over time. At AAA, it’s considered one option within an individualised anti-ageing plan, which may involve Ultherapy PRIME alone, observation, skincare, another procedure, or a carefully timed combination.
The first question at an AAA consultation isn’t which machine to use; it’s what’s causing the concern: laxity, texture, volume loss, muscle movement, or a combination.
| Treatment type | How it differs |
|---|---|
| Ultherapy PRIME | Uses microfocused ultrasound with real time imaging to target selected tissue depths and stimulate collagen without adding volume. |
| Radiofrequency treatments | Use radiofrequency energy to heat tissue. Devices vary in depth, delivery method and whether needles are involved. They may suit different tightening or textural goals. |
| Laser treatments | Often focus more on surface renewal, pigmentation, fine lines or texture, although capabilities vary by laser type and settings. |
| Injectables | Fillers add or restore volume, while botulinum toxin reduces selected muscle movement. They do not work through the same collagen lifting mechanism. |
| Surgical lifting | Can provide more substantial correction for advanced laxity but involves surgery, recovery and different risks. Ultherapy PRIME is not a replacement for a facelift. |
Ultrasound and HIFU devices differ in design, imaging capability and intended use. These differences are best discussed during a consultation.
It may suit you if you have mild to moderate skin laxity and want gradual lifting or tightening without surgery; common concerns include early jowling, reduced jawline definition, loose skin under the chin, neck laxity, crow’s feet, a lowered brow, or décolletage lines. These may look similar online but require different treatment plans in person.
It may be less suitable when the main concern is significant volume loss, advanced laxity, or a condition needing another medical or surgical approach. Suitability also depends on medical history, anatomy, expectations and the treatment area.
A consultation matters: a face-to-face assessment lets the doctor explain likely outcomes, discuss possible side effects, and decide whether Ultherapy PRIME or another option better matches your needs.
At Alpha Asia Aesthetics (AAA), Ultherapy PRIME is offered as part of an individualised aesthetic treatment plan. The conversation begins with what bothers you, not a preset package. The doctor assesses skin laxity, facial anatomy, treatment areas, medical history and suitability.
Results vary between individuals. The number of lines, treatment areas, energy settings, comfort measures and review schedule are determined only after assessment.
Cost varies according to the treatment area, degree of skin laxity, and the plan recommended after assessment; a smaller area like the brow won’t require the same plan as the lower face, under chin and neck. For reference, the indicative price for facial treatment is $1,788, though the final cost depends on your individual assessment. Accurate pricing is discussed during a personalised consultation with Dr Jeanel, where the doctor assesses your concerns and recommends a suitable plan.
No. Some early tightness may be noticeable, but the main result develops gradually as collagen forms over two to three months. It doesn’t reproduce the degree of correction possible with surgery.
Most patients resume usual activities right away. Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, tingling or other effects may occur.
Most patients begin with one treatment, with yearly maintenance sometimes recommended to help preserve collagen levels. The doctor will advise whether and when further treatment may be appropriate.
Yes, it can complement treatments such as fillers, botulinum toxin and skin boosters, but combination treatment should be planned by a doctor, with timing and suitability depending on your goals and other procedures being considered.
Comfort varies by person. You may feel brief heat, tingling or small pulses beneath the skin as energy is delivered; this doesn’t mean the surface is being burnt. Ultherapy PRIME’s updated comfort protocols and refined transducers are designed to make sessions more tolerable. Dr Jeanel Goh will discuss the treatment plan and available comfort measures beforehand.
Alpha Asia Aesthetics is one of the listed clinics in the Official Ultherapy Singapore directory of certified providers, located at 3 Killiney Road, #05-01/01A, Winsland House 1, Singapore 239519, in the Orchard area. Patients may also use the official directory to verify a clinic before arranging treatment.
It’s FDA-cleared, clinically proven, and designed to deliver energy to selected tissue depths beneath the skin rather than the visible surface. Real-time imaging helps the doctor plan where energy is delivered. It builds on Ultherapy’s established safety profile, with millions of treatments performed worldwide, but no medical aesthetic procedure is completely risk-free. Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, pain or tingling may occur; less common effects should be discussed at consultation. Contact the clinic promptly if you develop blistering, persistent burning pain, or another unexpected reaction.
Usually 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the areas treated and individual plan; a focused brow or under-chin treatment may take less time than a combined lower face and neck session. Allow extra time for consultation, photography, preparation and aftercare guidance.
